If you EVER suspect your drive to be failing, or not sure even what it is doing, but hear a weird noise coming from it. BACK IT UP IMMEDIATELY!!!

Do not even wait to finish reading the rest of this paragraph, STOP get an external hard drive from the likes of a staples near you, plug it in and worse case scenario, drag your data from your computer to the new hard drive.

If you feel you have time (though please always play on the side of caution when it comes to hard drives) go here download the file, open it and choose your main Hard drive (instructions I made on how to use this program for another client can be found here) this program is good for anyone with Tiger (OS10.4) and Leopard (OS 10.5)

If your hard drive has truly died, it MAY not be too late if you get it to us asap. In the odd occasion it is possible the fragile data reader fingers that run like a stylus on top of each platter MAY have gouged a groove into the platters themselves making it impossible to recover data. BUT if it simply died one day, the chances are the data can still be recovered. AGAIN, the key is not to try too much in case of damaging your chances or real data retrieval.
